Task Management
Task Management
Tasks are the heart of Taskip. Here’s everything you need to know about creating and managing them effectively.
Creating a Task
There are three ways to create a task:
Press T anywhere in a project to open the task creation dialog.
Click the + Add Task button at the top of any view.
Press Cmd+K → type “Create task” → press Enter.
Task Fields
Priority Levels
Set priority to signal urgency to your team:
- 🔴 Urgent — Drop everything, work on this now
- 🟠 High — Important, get to it today
- 🟡 Medium — Normal workflow (default)
- 🔵 Low — Do it when you have bandwidth
- ⚪ None — No priority set
Due Dates
Click the calendar icon on any task to set a due date. Tasks with overdue dates turn red in all views.
Assignees
A task can be assigned to one or more members. The primary assignee is responsible; secondary assignees are collaborators.
Labels
Labels are custom colored tags you create per-workspace. Use them to cross-filter tasks across projects (e.g., bug, design, backend).
Subtasks
Break big tasks into smaller steps with subtasks:
- Open a task and scroll to the Subtasks section
- Click + Add Subtask
- Each subtask has its own assignee, due date, and status
- The parent task shows a progress indicator (e.g. 3/5 complete)
Recurring Tasks
Set a task to repeat automatically:
- Open a task → click Recurrence
- Choose a schedule: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Custom
- When a recurring task is completed, a new copy is created with the next due date
Bulk Actions
Select multiple tasks by holding Shift and clicking. The bulk action bar appears at the bottom — use it to reassign, re-prioritize, move, or delete multiple tasks at once.
