Overview

SMTP Configuration in Taskip allows you to connect an external email provider to send transactional emails from your workspace. These emails include notifications, invoices, order updates, and system communications.

Each provider requires specific credentials to establish a secure connection.

  • Enable email sending from your workspace
  • Use trusted email providers for better deliverability
  • Send system notifications and transactional emails
  • Maintain branded communication with custom sender details

Common Configuration Fields

Most providers require the following:

  • API Key / Credentials – Authentication key from provider
  • From Email – Sender email address
  • From Name – Sender display name
  • Test Connection – Verify configuration
  • Connect – Save and activate provider
  • Clear – Reset fields

How to Configure SMTP

Step 1: Choose Provider

Select your preferred email provider from the list.

Step 2: Enter Credentials

Fill in all required fields based on the provider.

Step 3: Set Sender Details

  • Enter From Email
  • Enter From Name

These will appear in outgoing emails.

Step 4: Test Connection

Click Test Connection to verify:

  • Credentials are valid
  • Connection is successful

Step 5: Connect Provider

Click Connect to activate the configuration.

Step 6: Save or Reset

  • Use Clear to reset fields if needed

System Behavior

  • Only one active SMTP provider is used at a time
  • Emails are sent using configured provider
  • Failed connections prevent email sending
  • Test connection validates setup before activation

  • Use verified sender email domains
  • Choose a reliable provider (e.g. SendGrid, SES)
  • Regularly test connection after updates
  • Keep API keys secure
