Security & FAQ

How connections are secured

  • Per-app secrets, not a shared password. Every AI client you connect (Claude, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT, or anything else) gets its own unique secret, generated from Settings → MCP Server. Compromising one client’s secret doesn’t expose the others. Claude’s web app is the one exception — it signs in through your browser instead of using a secret at all.
  • Scoped to your workspace. A connection can only see and act on the workspace it was generated in, never another workspace, even on the same Taskip account.
  • Revocable instantly. Revoking a connection from Settings disconnects that AI client immediately, no restart or propagation delay.
  • Every action is logged. Tool calls made through a connection are recorded (which tool ran, when, and whether it succeeded), so you can audit what an AI assistant actually did.

FAQ

Is the MCP server available on my plan? The MCP server connects to any Taskip workspace with AI/MCP access enabled. Check Settings → MCP Server — if you see the Set Up MCP button, you have access.

Can I connect more than one AI client at once? Yes. Start a separate connection for each client (Claude, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT, etc.). Each gets its own secret (or its own signed-in session, for Claude’s web app) and can be revoked independently without affecting the others.

Can I revoke access? Yes, at any time, from Settings → MCP Server. Revoking a connection disconnects that client immediately.

Does this work with ChatGPT? Yes. ChatGPT connects as a native custom connector under Developer Mode, no bridge required. See Connecting AI Clients for the exact steps.

Do I need to write code to set this up? No. Start a connection in Settings, then either paste the URL and secret into your AI client’s MCP config or sign in through your browser (Claude’s web app), no custom integration code required.

Will an AI assistant do things I didn’t ask for? No. Every action still runs through the same tool call your AI assistant explicitly makes in response to your request, nothing runs automatically or on a schedule on its own.

What’s the difference between the MCP server and Taspi? Taspi is Taskip’s own built-in AI agent, already inside your workspace. The MCP server is for connecting AI tools you use outside Taskip, like Claude Code or Cursor, they work independently of each other.
