Import Leads

The Import Leads feature allows you to upload multiple leads at once using a CSV file. This is useful for migrating data, importing leads from other tools, or bulk-adding prospects into your system.

Overview

Instead of creating leads one by one, you can:

  • Upload a CSV file
  • Map fields to the system
  • Import all leads in bulk

Once imported, leads will automatically appear in the Leads module.

To access the import feature:

  1. Go to Leads
  2. Click the + (Plus icon) next to the Create Lead button
  3. Select Import
  4. You will be redirected to:
    Settings → Data Management

Download Sample CSV

Before uploading your file:

  1. Go to Import
  2. Select Exports
  3. Download the Sample CSV

This file contains the correct format and field structure required for successful import.

Prepare Your CSV File

Ensure your CSV includes relevant columns such as:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Company Name
  • Website
  • Status
  • Currency
  • Lead Value
  • Lead Source
  • Last Interaction Date
  • Lead Owner
  • Country
  • State
  • City
  • Zip Code
  • Description

Upload CSV File

  1. In the Import section:
    • Drag and drop your CSV file into the upload area
      or
    • Click to browse and select your file
  2. Once selected, the system will process the file for mapping

Field Mapping

After uploading:

  • Match each CSV column to the corresponding system field
  • Ensure all required fields are correctly mapped

Example:

  • CSV “email” → System “Email”
  • CSV “first_name” → System “First Name”

Start Import

  1. Click the Import button
  2. The system will begin processing your data

System Notification

After starting the import, you will see:

  • Notification Message:
    • “Import started. Records will appear in the system shortly.”
  • A notification bar may also display:
    • “Import started, records will appear shortly”

Import Processing

  • The import runs in the background
  • Processing time depends on file size
  • You can continue using the system during import

Completion

Once the import is complete:

  • All valid records will be added to the Leads module
  • You can view them in the Leads list
  • Imported leads will follow standard system behavior:
    • Editable
    • Assignable
    • Convertible to deals

Best Practices

  • Always use the Sample CSV format
  • Ensure emails are valid and unique
  • Avoid duplicate entries
  • Map fields carefully before importing
  • Start with a small test file if importing large datasets

Troubleshooting

Issue: Data not appearing

  • Wait a few moments for background processing
  • Refresh the Leads page

Issue: Incorrect data mapping

  • Re-import with correct field mapping

Issue: Missing fields

  • Ensure required fields are included in CSV
