Delete a Service Order

Overview

The Delete Service Order feature in Taskip allows authorized users to permanently remove a service order from the system. This is useful for cleaning up invalid, duplicate, or test orders that are no longer required for tracking or execution.

⚠️ This action is irreversible and cannot be undone once completed.

Purpose

  • Remove unwanted or incorrect service orders
  • Maintain a clean and organized order list
  • Eliminate duplicate or test data
  • Improve system accuracy and reporting

Before deleting a service order, ensure:

  • User has a valid Taskip account
  • User is logged in
  • At least one service order exists
  • User has Super Admin or Admin permissions
  • The order is not required for ongoing reporting or auditing

  • Client Name

Step 3: Open Action Menu

Click the three-dot (⋮) menu on the right side of the order row.

A dropdown menu will appear with available actions.

Step 4: Select Delete Option

Step 5: Confirmation Prompt

A confirmation dialog will appear to prevent accidental deletion.

You will be asked to confirm:

  • Do you really want to delete this order?

Step 6: Final Confirmation

Confirm the deletion.

⚠️ Note: Once confirmed, the order will be permanently removed from the system.

Step 7: Order Deletion Complete

After confirmation:

  • The service order is permanently deleted
  • It is removed from the Service Orders list
  • All related order data becomes inaccessible

System Behavior After Deletion

When an order is deleted:

  • It is removed from the order table
  • Linked project and task references are disconnected (if applicable)
  • It no longer appears in reports or filters
  • History logs may retain minimal audit traces depending on system configuration

Important Notes

  • Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed
  • Only authorized users can perform this action
  • Avoid deleting active or in-progress orders
  • Use caution when removing financial or completed records

Best Practices

  • Verify order details before deletion
  • Avoid deleting orders with completed payments
  • Use archiving (if available) instead of deletion for records
  • Restrict deletion permissions to Admin roles only

Summary

Deleting a Service Order in Taskip permanently removes an order from the system. This feature helps maintain data cleanliness and system accuracy but should be used carefully due to its irreversible nature.
